the Kit, Chloe and Louise dolls I’ve been working on are finally finished! now it’s time for some outfits…
***updated to add***
I didn’t really have time to write anything yesterday so I thought I’d just do a little show and tell on the new dolls but Tim’s all “aren’t you even going to talk about them”. Guess he figures if he has to listen to me chatter on about these dolls all week that the rest of you should … More

hanging out
these gals have been patiently waiting on my desk for their photoshoots. they have been pokey pokersons. some sitting around for days with no hair, weeks with no faces, months with no outfits. now they’re all finished and waiting for the sun, and for me to have the time and concentration to do some set ups.

folky girl
I just finished making the first of the dolls from my christmas break sketching session. I stenciled the pattern on the velvet skirt. I was so excited about this part. There were supplies to get and paint colors to pick out. The design was going to be a lot more elaborate but man, cutting through acetate with an exacto knife is tricky! I need more practice.

some sugarplum fairies
I’ve had many ideas for birthday gifts for the chicklets, Sadie and Delia. But what do you make for the daughters of the craftiest mom of them all?! I dismissed so many ideas along the way that these presents are now far beyond belated-birthday and are falling in Christmas territory. I’ve been wanting to make her a topsy turvy doll since before she arrived and finally here she is. I decided to make two versions of the same girl, an everyday version in an apron and a dressed up version with a party dress, instead of doing two separate personalities. This was such a fun project … More
bonneted babies
I played the Phoebe card to get me out of yardwork on Sunday and was able to do a little gift sewing. I made these little wool babies in bonnets dolls for some new babies, Louisa and Frances, and while I was at it, two more for a couple not so new babies, Phoebe and Lydia. I found lots of great bonnet inspiration in one of my new favorite books, here.

the gnomes made me do it
Honestly! It was not my idea to go buy a gazillion really heavy bushes that need to be planted this weekend. Really, why would I sign myself up for this much work? Why would I sacrifice an entire weekend to dirt shoveling. This is not my style at all. Next thing you know we’ll be borrowing the neighbors rototiller to dig up and level the entire back yard. Damn gnomes!
