I want this wall

Check out this page from another favorite library book of mine, Collecting American Country.

A wall of antique doll quilts. I love it! I love the idea of making a slew of delicate, small scale, possibly even handsewn, geometric quilts and then arranging them as one big work of art on the wall. Problem is I have no blank walls. I may have to start on one anyway.… More

splash of color

Some vacation day. Forecast is for severe scattered thunderstorms so guess instead of a trip to the zoo as planned we’ll have to stay inside and work on project find a spot for all this stuff which Oscar will be thrilled to learn includes stowing half his toys away in the basement. Happy 4th kid!

Other suckiness as a result of incliment weather is no light to take pictures of all our fun garage sale finds. Instead here’s a photo … More

If you’ve been wondering where all the pinks, creams and browns have gone these days it’s because they’ve all been sucked into the vortex that is my craft room. It’s been a whirlwind of projects for our upcoming niece. Hope Maggie likes Neopolitan!

ok Katie, no peeking beyond this point. (I know she won’t. She’s the good sister. The one who only halfheartedly helped me dig through closets for hidden Christmas presents when we were kids.)… More

yellow

Not a good day for yellow here in rainy Chicago today but I’m feeling themey so I thought I’d give it a shot. Here’s a possible yellow & white apron in progress for Amy’s new theme and a shot of yellow for Kerstin’s color week (more yellow on thriftcraft too). Why am I knitting? Kay and Ann‘s new book came from amazon on friday and the knitting bug is buzzing in my ear. I don’t really go crazy for … More
