early spring

Dear Amy sent me this print of one of her watercolor quilts a while back to help bring a bit of Spring into my drab Chicago Winter. While it is 80 degrees today (hi crazy) and the landscape is quickly improving/blossoming it is still pretty drab outside. This print is still doing it's job and keeping me happy happy. Isn't it great! Go bug her to put them up in her shop.

Have a wonderful Spring weekend everybody. I'll pop back in with an Easter dress if I can get that dang thread. Otherwise, I'll check in Monday from my chocolate coma.

a hoppy little giveaway

Phoebe and I spotted another bunny in action. We seem to have the knack. We spotted her trail first. Then we peeked the cutie herself doling out jelly beans.

This bunny was not as skittish and stopped for hugs and to share her candy.

So friendly in fact that she agreed to let us find her a new home. So it’s a bunny giveaway today! I’d hoped to make 5 of these for the shop by Easter but dang, it’s this weekend already. Oh well. I have one done and I thought I’d just find her a nice new home.

Leave a comment if you’d like a bunny roommate and I’ll close it up either tomorrow or the next day and let the random number generator decide her fate.

** update** Lucky No 228 is Nina! Thanks for playing and don’t be sad if you didn’t win. I’ll probably do another soon. I have 3 more dresses that need someone to wear them.

bunny dresses

I think I like this before shot better than my staged photo. It was too sunny outside. Crazy that’s a consideration again. Go Spring!

I’ve been thinking a lot about photo shoots and locations. I’m feeling stumped. Like there are just no cool locations here in suburbia to take photos. But that can’t be true. I think I need to dig deeper. Put some dolls in the car and just be prepared to slam on the brakes if I see anything remotely interesting.

Super Langs

Well we’ve regrouped and we’re more super than ever! Our powers? Can keep two kids entertained through a dreary snowy weekend. Able to clean up a flooded basement in 1 hour flat. (and learning a lesson while at it, never leave a pottytraining 2yo unattended) And the most important superpower of all — figuring out how to take time off to just hang out. Not the most glamorous superpowers but we’ll take em!

Oh! and check out these cutie super heros here. I’ll vote for that!

snack bag bundles

I finished 3 things! 3 whole projects. I'm very excited to show & tell. I've got my fingers crossed for more sunny days soon. Yesterday was sunny and like sixty degrees! I kid you not. Bikes were unearthed, fences were covered in sidewalk chalk and there was even a trip to the park!

First up, the finished snack bags. These were easy peasy and are pretty gratifying to make. As I mentioned before, I went for unlined to avoid the whole good plastic/bad plastic pitfall altogether. My least favorite part of this project – trying to rethread my screwed up serger. My favorite parts were picking out the fabrics I thought my friends would like and rolling them up in these cute little bundles. It can be good to have a friend who knows how to sew! I thought I'd extend this perk out to my blog friends. I know most of you sew but some of you probably don't. I thought I'd do a snack bag bundle giveaway for the non-sewers out there. So if that applies to you, leave a comment with your favorite color scheme and I'll have the random number generator pick a winner for a set of six cotton, unlined, velcro-closed snack bags.

Thanks for playing guys! Kate (fizz and co) your snack bags are underway.
