epiphany! maybe.

I'm standing in front of my fabric closet looking for something to make a quick bunny from. I have many choices. Lots of Springish choices. Lots of pinks, greens, yellows. And yet I can't find a single fabric I want to make a bunny from. I realize I'm ruling everything out because I've already made something from this or that fabric. And it can be 10 years ago I used it and still I don't want to use it again because I already did. Am I weirdo? I just donated a ton of old thrifted fabric that I was never going to use. Do I need to go through my "good" fabric too? Maybe if I weed out half of it and put it away in the attic for a while I’ll be inspired by what’s left.

scarf to be

I find the first day back to school after a 3 day weekend to be particularly uninspiring. I would think it’d be the opposite. Hit the thrift store in effort to inspire myself and picked out the following from the sari rack to make into an infinity scarf.

pop of color

With nothing but white out the windows for 2 months now it’s good to have some bright colors in the house to look at. And eating my vegetables has never been easier. It’s reassuring to eat lots of bright green food, to remember that in other places things can still grow. One of the most fun quotes Tim and I remember from Oscar’s birth is the midwife telling me that if I had been a pioneer on a wagon train I would have died in childbirth. I think she was trying to be positive? This Winter is another one of those if you were a pioneer you’d be dead sort of reminders.

in the house

I need capturing-this-moment-in-the-home shots for my PL album this week. I took that as an excuse to photograph, instead of clean, my house after the kids left for school.

But yes, I did at least toss the apple core.
