knit/crochet

What’s everyone knitting this season? I have another set of thrummed mittens started (this pair for me!) and a christmas afghan going. Both need to be bumped for gifts though. I need something fun to make! I guess I should check my pinterest. I’m sure I’ve got something there.

I did crochet this one scarf. Maybe I’ll do another? I feel like I knit so much faster though.

Storybook Cross Stitchette pattern up in the shop

Just in time for Christmas crafting the storybook gals I made last year are now available as a PDF pattern in the shop. Storybook X-Stitchettes. I think these would be so sweet in a nursery. That ship has sailed over here so I think I’m going to back them with fabric, stuff them lightly and hang them on the tree.

Also new in the shop are the PDF versions of the Kitchen Gnome Dish Towel Embroideries. I can’t wait til this weekend to get ours out of the Christmas box.

crocheted hexagon afghan

It's done! I crocheted an afghan! Fun! I love making blankets. Crochet is such a new world for me. It's so forgiving. This just occurred to me.. my border is a little ruffly where I started out because I was picking up too many stitches… I can just cut it, undo that part and redo it! Also some of the yarn I used is not my favorite. I could actually cut out one hex and redo a ring with a different yarn and the rest of the afghan would stay intact! That's a revelation for those of us who started with knitting. So cool!

I've already started on my Christmas colored blanket of same design but my head is spinning in so many directions right now. I have two more ornaments cut out, an elf on the sewing table, and sketches of a new Elsa doll ready to go. Oh, and I'm attempting mittens! And I have a month of PL to do and some new scrapbooking treats just came in the mail. Weird how at 9:30 I can already feel like my day is already running out of time.

panda ornament

It's a little panda for the Christmas tree. Every year I want to make a bunch of little stuffed toy ornaments and I get distracted. Maybe this is my year. I sorta want to bedazzle him up with glitter glue. First I'm going to try to make a little group of them and then see if they want to be glittered.

crocheting and Gilmore Girls

Ok, I am maybe halfway done with my crocheted hexagon afghan. I thought I was closer but then I laid it out on the floor, instead of just on my lap, and ok, maybe another 30 hexs. I really want to finish it up because I want to start a new one in Christmas colors. Where did I talk about that, here? Instagram? Facebook? I want to make another in the same design but with white outer rings and bright candy colors in the center. So just need to finish this one up first, but… I’m done with all 7 seasons of Gilmore Girls already!! This was my Gilmore Girls afghan. I was trying to finish it while watching all 7 seasons of GG on Netflix. But I wasn’t just watching while crocheting. I ended up watching nothing but GG for last month or so. I get so lazy with tv watching. So much easier to just watch the one show, no decision making. Man, I am disappointed in that ending. I knew it was terrible. I remembered that. I re-remembered that. I read articles about how bad it was and still, so disappointing.

So now I’m trying to find another funny, light hearted show to binge watch. But, evidently this was the only such show every made. Every other show on tv, now or in the past 5-10 years, is gorey, supernatural, crime, murder, superhero, sci fi. And I love that stuff, especially sci fi, but it was so relaxing to just watch a nice happy show. If I’m missing anything obvious please let me know. And yes, I know, #oldladyproblems. But dangit, I need a nice happy show to crochet my christmas afghan to!
