I've been sewing a lot the past few days. And guess what? I've forgotten how to sew! I'm botching everything. Sewing right side to wrong, eyeballing things and being off, making mistakes I'm trying very hard to avoid. My seam ripper is my best friend. So today I gave the sewing a rest. It's so hard not to want to just charge through and put some things in the "finished" column!

My Book
A captivating gang of 24 huggable, lovable creatures to sew—from classics like Margot, a topsy-turvy doll, and the button-jointed teddy bear Bjorn Bjornson, to irresistible Evelyn, a wool felt inchworm decked out in mod glasses and a kerchief, and Koji, a fiercely cute spiked softie monster. There’s something for everyone here—from kids to grown-ups and from beginning sewers to advanced dollmakers. Published by STC Craft, August, 2010.
Hear, hear! I can so relate to those days.
Hang in and chin up! Your stitcheries are so lovely, and those fabrics you chose work amazingly well with the colors in your embroidery. Looks like you’re working on a quilt, perhaps?
This is going to be a stunner, and will be worth the hair raising moments. 🙂
I am right there with you today. Rip, rip, rip…
I sew understand this! Hang in there…it looks darling!
I thought I was the only one who had those days! Coming back to it fresh will work wonders, this gorgeous piece your working on will be finished in no time.
I’ve been having a week like that. Everything has been going wrong or I’m forgetting to do quite important stuff or I’m just getting in a muddle. I’m blaming the change in temperature although hubby has muted it could simply be my age (cheek!). Hope you get your sewing mojo back soon.
Dawn xx
i’ve been sewing and i’m still botching things left and rights. the quilt looks fantastic, h. can’t wait to see it come together!
ummm, that sounds like a typical sewing for me! the quilt is really fun! I love how you incorporated the stitchettes…you are brilliant.
I am the same way, I have to make myself stand back and take a break. The quilt(?) is beautiful. Love the embroidery! Have a great weekend!
