My First Golden Encyclopedia, a Golden Book. By Jane Werner Watson Pictures by William Dugan, 1969. Definitely worth the effort of lugging around the mile-long line of the hot and sweaty Oak Park book fair!

My Book
A captivating gang of 24 huggable, lovable creatures to sew—from classics like Margot, a topsy-turvy doll, and the button-jointed teddy bear Bjorn Bjornson, to irresistible Evelyn, a wool felt inchworm decked out in mod glasses and a kerchief, and Koji, a fiercely cute spiked softie monster. There’s something for everyone here—from kids to grown-ups and from beginning sewers to advanced dollmakers. Published by STC Craft, August, 2010.
That is really cool.
Awesome find! Love the illustrations!
Great find! If I found that one, I’d lug it around too!! 🙂
So so lovely! Careful.. these books are addictive once you start buying them. I have so many that I decided to include a page from one at the bottom of each recipe post. It’s a nice way to admire them and sharing them with others. Gorgeous illustrations and colours in your book 🙂
swoon!!
Very cool, I bet it was fun hunting. I’m headed out there tomorrow to help a friend, crossing my fingers for light construction traffic…
heading to OP? from where? lots of the construction seems to have cleared up. although 355 to ikea and back was harrowing.
Wow, that is great! Makes me miss my favorite huge booksale in Oklahoma City.
oh. my. gosh.
must visit alibris.com immediately!!!!
All these memories have just come flooding back – I had the exact same book as a child. I wonder if Mum still has it?
Oh my god that book has just brought back a huge wave of nostalgia…I had one very much like it (a jumble sale find as a kid)I’m sure there was a story involving kittens, in Casey Jones type hats, riding on a steam train…
lucky you!
Oh my! This is beautiful… very beautiful. I love it! Lucky, lucky you!
Oh my goodness! I had this book when I was a child (a hand-me-down from older siblings). I had totally forgotten about it! Thanks for the trip down memory lane!
