I received my mary not martha order last week and was able to make this pretty dang cute flowery headband for Phoebe. I kept the flowers in a bunch and twisted their wire stems around a plastic headband. I clipped off the stems, bent the sharp edges up away from the head and then doused the thing in tacky glue and waited 2 days for it to completely dry. It’s probably not all that secure but for the 2 seconds she’ll actually keep it on her head it works fine. Of course you have to have a lollipop on hand or she won’t cooperate at all. I think I’m inadvertently training her like one would a puppy. I should probably watch that. She’ll go all Veruca Salt on me someday.
And I’m not done yet. Here’s the rest of my order, some stretchy ruffled netting trim and another bunch of velvety flowers.
As long as the words, “phoebe sit. phoebe staaay. staaay. yes! release. good girl!” don’t come out of your mouth, I think you’re ok.
Ohhh my stomach hurts, lollipop, puppy and Veruca Salt all at once!
You are so good. I saw your headband post featuring the jcrew headband and ordered it in navy. My 5 year old has worn it almost daily with decidedly unfancy things much to the scorn of her 8 year old sister.
It’s super cute! My littlest one won’t wear anything in her hair at all, except she goes around with this vintage pink hat my mom bought for her on her head, and cries when you take it off. Go figure.
I love it, its just gorgeous
My daughter is the same way. It started with small m&ms as bribery to wear clothes I made her. Fortunately I don’t have to do that anymore, but she will not leave anything in her hair very long, although the length of time is increasing. Good luck.
LOL….but daddy i want it NOWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW!!!
I can’t believe how long it’s been since I’ve visited. I last remember you hanging miniature quilts in her nursery!
She is just gorgeous, as is the headband. So happy to see all continues in such a lovely way.
Aw, she’ll learn to love it… Very cute!
