butterfly shirt applique

“mine butterfy shirt” along with “mine simming googles”. Wish you could see the model in action. She’s too much! Here’s the face I get when I ask for a smile.

I love the idea of embroidering on shirts. Though next time I’m going to be patient and pick up some stabilizer at the store first. So another top embellished and I think I’m warmed up for some actual sewing. I might try a dress for Phoebe this weekend. Or! I might scrap all my plans because this came in the mail yesterday…. so excited!!!

  1. Very very cute, both the shirt and the model.

  2. The shirt is gorgeous but the model …. awwwww, just adorable ;o)!!
    Hugs,
    Joy :o)

  3. What a great shirt. Did she help choose the butterfly fabric? It is an adorable shirt.

  4. I, too, love the beautiful embroidery on shirts. But, my 9-year-old daughter (and many other children) HATE the way the stitches or stabilizer feel on the reverse side of the fabric that touches their skin. We’ve had to pass up many a beautiful piece of clothing because of this. Alas.

  5. LOVE the smile face! It matches the “simming” goggles because it looks like she’s about to do a cannonball into the pool!

  6. It’s because she’s a girl. I was hoping my daughter would grow out of the stubbornness that accompanies a 2 yr old girl. But she recently turned 4 and it has only gotten worse! Good luck!

  7. Tell Phoebe to say pizza and then snap the shot – it makes them smile without the cheese look. Though I loooove the smoochy face smile.

  8. I love that applique…and she is such a doll! I love the middle stitching on the butterfly…so much fun!

  9. How cute! I love the stitching on the butterfly’s body.

  10. Oh my goodness she is cute! Who needs a smile when there’s that much cuteness going on?

  11. I love that top! You have inspired me to make a few shirts for my daughter…and maybe for my son too! LOL! I’m thinking a train and dog for him. A heart and butterfly for her.
    Thanks so much!!!!
    Susan

  12. Love the colors & simplicity!
I came across your “doll quilts on the wall” post. Such a wonderful idea.
