The third member of the new Patchwork Set, Gretchen is more of a stay under the covers girl. I wish I could do the same. It’s cold, cloudy and dreary today. I need the sun, my on switch.

My Book
A captivating gang of 24 huggable, lovable creatures to sew—from classics like Margot, a topsy-turvy doll, and the button-jointed teddy bear Bjorn Bjornson, to irresistible Evelyn, a wool felt inchworm decked out in mod glasses and a kerchief, and Koji, a fiercely cute spiked softie monster. There’s something for everyone here—from kids to grown-ups and from beginning sewers to advanced dollmakers. Published by STC Craft, August, 2010.
oh my….she is DIVINE!!!!!! that hair is just beautiful!!
So cute! I love the way you’ve made her hair. It’s a cold and cloudy day here, too. I wish I could just curl up under the covers and read a book all day.
You have given her the most beautiful braids so prettily topping her delightful head! And those covers are the sweetest!
I LOVE her hair!
love the doll and those braids are great
i just read a ‘ A Friend is Someone Who Likes You for morning story time
Are you kidding me?! Her hair is amazing!
My sister’s name is Gretchen and she is a stay-under-the-covers-girl too!
Too cute!
She’s my kind of girl! I like to have a nice lie-in in the morning too. 🙂
Gretchen is super cute.
Oh I love her, the photo is super sweet too!
Her hair is absolutely perfect!
Oh my gosh! I love her. Especially her hair. Do you follow any tutorial on how to do this? Maybe you could make up one? All the hair on the dolls is so cool.
her hair is adorable!
Aww, she is so cute! My name is Gretchen and I am under the covers right now! Only it’s because I am sick, not because I want to be :S
Perfection!
She is very sweet! Love her cute hair braids!
I’m with you on the sunshine. I need it or I feel like a turtle (slow) and Gretchen, just curled up not doing much.
She looks so sweet lying in her little bed tucked under her doll quilt reading a doll-size book! I love this set of patchwork dolls you have going on!
Gretchen is so adorable! Her quilt looks so comfy! Hope you are having a wonderful week~Tam 😀
wonderful. and i’m really sure …a girl called “Gretchen” MUST look like this.
many greetings, doro.
Oh, she is SO beautiful! I just love her braid 🙂
This totally gave me pause, as my name is Gretchen. For the briefest moment I thought you were writing about me. And perhaps you were. My hair is not blonde, but I do like to stay under the covers. 😉
What a sweet doll! I’m partial to staying curled up under the covers with a good book too! I love the quilt- looks very Holly Hobby to me!
When my hair was long as a girl, I wore it in braids all the time- hey, it was the 70s, and Little House was my favorite show ever! My braids were more brown than blonde, though.
LOVE her hair, beautiful job as always! You make me want to try my hand at designing my doll again :).
Love her! Don’t suppose you are going to make patterns for these and need a pattern tester?
Oh, she is just lovely! I love her hair.
How can you not a love a doll with a book???
ooooohhhhh PLEASE, please, please make patterns…. please???
Gretchen is my kind of girl: reading under quilt.
I saw Gretchen’s photo and kept thinking something about it looked really familiar. It took me a couple of days to realize that oh my gosh we have a book just like the one she’s holding, by John Anglund! My 3 year old just had it out this morning. Ours is called ‘Love is a Special Way of Feeling’ and the cover is the same dusty reddish color and has a little boy handing a flower to a little girl. We stole it from my in-laws’ house years ago and I have never seen another like it. Now that I know they’re out there I MUST start my search for more. It is the sweetest little book ever.
