Oh man! I love those buttons. I think I actually have some of the rose buttons in my button box (my box has some of the leftover buttons from when my mom was making us clothes when we were little…does that make me vintage, too?) Who knew I had some vinatage stuff…maybe I am cool!
I have a small mug with the same illustration of the girl feeding the birds. On the other side of the mug is a boy with puss-n-boots. I got the mug in Germany as a child (in the eighties). I think they might be illustrations from the children’s book.
A captivating gang of 24 huggable, lovable creatures to sew—from classics like Margot, a topsy-turvy doll, and the button-jointed teddy bear Bjorn Bjornson, to irresistible Evelyn, a wool felt inchworm decked out in mod glasses and a kerchief, and Koji, a fiercely cute spiked softie monster. There’s something for everyone here—from kids to grown-ups and from beginning sewers to advanced dollmakers. Published by STC Craft, August, 2010.

I just got that weird ‘straight back to my childhood’ feeling seeing the necklace, I’m sure I had something uncannily similar as a child.
