My Book
A captivating gang of 24 huggable, lovable creatures to sew—from classics like Margot, a topsy-turvy doll, and the button-jointed teddy bear Bjorn Bjornson, to irresistible Evelyn, a wool felt inchworm decked out in mod glasses and a kerchief, and Koji, a fiercely cute spiked softie monster. There’s something for everyone here—from kids to grown-ups and from beginning sewers to advanced dollmakers. Published by STC Craft, August, 2010.
My Mama recently sent me a box full of books from when I was little. It was like a time machine! Even when I see old children’s books that I never had, I feel like I am four again. Isn’t it lovely?
Oooh… love vintage children’s books. I can’t wait to see what you have in store, Hillary!
I love vintage books. I have some from when I was a kid and some I just picked up at thrift stores. I have been trying to think of ideas that I can use the art for.
What do you use yours for? Or do you leave them as is?
I had one idea to scan some of the art and then print it on fabric paper or transfer paper, Then put on tshirts or something. Any other ideas?
I see a Snipp, Snapp, Snurr book in that pile — my favorite!
Have you seen Hilary Knight’s version of the Owl and the Pussycat? Definitely a must!
My 15mth daughter is obsessed with books at the moment. I keep buying her the ones I loved and she just keeps turning pages. The very hungry caterpillar is a favourite in our house. I love the flikr pics of your new little peanut.
Vintage children’s books are the best. 🙂
